The Jacksonville Jaguars had one of their own snubbed for the Pro Football Hall of Fame: left tackle Tony Boselli. Meanwhile running back Fred Taylor is still waiting for the day that he may be strongly considered.

Taylor has been retired since after the 2010 NFL season. Despite missing out on several votes now, he is confident that he will eventually be inducted, via TMZ Sports:

“We're going to get it,” Taylor said. “I believe in the voters.”

Taylor was named a semifinalist for the first time since his retirement in 2019. Unfortunately, he, was unable to follow it up with another strong bid alongside Boselli this time around.

Taylor did not rack up many accolades during his career in Jacksonville as a one-time Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro. Regardless, there is no question that he had been one of the best players at his position for the bulk of his career.

The former first-round pick in the 1998 NFL Draft managed to fit the billing as a bonafide workhorse as soon as he entered the league. Taylor registered seven 1,000-yard rushing campaigns in his career and is currently 17th on the all-time rushing list. He also tacked on 290 catches for 2,384 yards and eight touchdowns.

Although he may not have received the type off recognition he deserved, Taylor's career numbers are better than a good portion of the running backs already in the Hall of Fame. Perhaps it is for this reason that he continues to hold out hope for his name to be called.
