Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew was able to get things off on the right foot against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday with a 22-yard pass to wide receiver DJ Chark. With that, he firmly etched himself in the annals of franchise history.

Minshew has now become the only Jaguars player since quarterback Byron Leftwich to throw a touchdown pass in their first three career games.

Minshew was not done putting the stamp on his historic start in Jacksonville by throwing another touchdown pass to tight end James O'Shaughnessy to take a 14-0 lead heading into halftime. It is safe to say that his performance thus far has only served to generate even more headlines on social media.

It is no secret that he has emerged as quite the fan favorite early on. Although most of the attention can be attributed to his unique look, the fact that he has enjoyed plenty of success since taking over under center has solidified his path to stardom. His performance against the Titans is further proof that he is not shying away from the spotlight.

The Jaguars made quite the investment when they signed quarterback Nick Foles this offseason. Unfortunately, his injury in the season-opener has provided Minshew with just the opportunity he needed to establish himself as a viable starter after being taken in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

With Foles being placed on injured reserve, the rookie will have ample time to generate some serious discussion regarding the future under center in Jacksonville.
