The Jacksonville Jaguars are already looking ahead towards the 2022 season, and one of their top priorities will be finding a new head coach to replace Urban Meyer. Reports indicate that the Jaguars are actively requesting permission from teams to interview staff members for their vacancy, and it looks as if they've identified two teams they want to poach from. According to B/R Gridiron, the Jags have requested permission from Bucs' offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, among others, including former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson.

In addition to the pair of Buccaneers' coordinators, the Jaguars have also submitted a similar interview request to the Dallas Cowboys in hopes of holding discussions with OC Kellen Moore and DC Dan Quinn, per Adam Schefter.

After Meyer's disastrous stint with the Jaguars saw him depart the organization less than one year into a five-year deal, owner Shad Khan and GM Trent Baalke are aware they need to knock this impending hire out of the park. Thus, their shortlist already includes some of the brightest minds in the game, having identified two pairs of coordinators from two of the NFL's top teams.

Among the candidates the Jaguars are intrigued in, Bowles, Quinn and Pederson are the three with head coaching experience. Bowles, who is currently the Buccaneers' DC, was formerly the New York Jets head coach, and Quinn, now the Cowboys' DC, led the Atlanta Falcons to a Super Bowl.

Moore and Leftwich, on the other hand, have never held head coaching roles, but are considered among the brightest minds in football. Any one of these individuals could help right the ship in Jacksonville, but the Jags will need to be very convincing in their pitch.
