In the next month or so leading up to free agency, teams in the NFL are going to have to make decisions on some of their players with team options and the Jacksonville Jaguars have begun doing so. Ahead of the new league year, Jacksonville has exercised their contract option on Chris Conley.

Last offseason, Conley signed a two-year, $4.5 million deal with the Jaguars after spending his first four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. Nearly a year after signing with Jacksonville, the team had until Feb. 25 to make a decision on Conley.

In his first season with the team, Conley hauled in a career-high 47 receptions for 775 yards and five touchdowns. Even with the Jaguars using both Nick Foles and Gardner Minshew at quarterback, Conley was one of Jacksonville's most reliable receivers in 2019.

After having his option picked up, Conley is set to make $2 million in 2020 and has a cap hit of $2.7 million. At the same time, half of his salary for next season is now guaranteed.

With Conley being retained for 2020, the Jaguars could undergo some changes at wide receiver. Due to the emergence of D.J. Chark and Conley in 2019, Marqise Lee could be a cap casualty this offseason.

Lee was a second-round pick for the Jaguars in the 2014 NFL Draft out of USC. Over his first five seasons in the NFL, Lee's best season came in 2016 with 63 receptions, 851 yards, and three touchdowns.

However, in the last two seasons, the USC product has missed 26 games due to injury. While bringing back Conley is a positive sign for the offense, it is a negative one for Lee's future with the team.
