This year's draft class of wide receivers is littered with talent, causing some to compare it to some of the best classes in years past. Ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft, Jacksonville Jaguars GM, Dave Caldwell, believes the 2020 wide receiver class is comparable to the historic one in 2014.

Back in the 2014 NFL Draft, guys like Sammy Watkins, Mike Evans, Odell Beckham Jr., and Brandin Cooks were taken in the first round. Additionally, the 2014 class had Davante Adams, Allen Robinson, Jarvis Landry, and John Brown in the second and third rounds.

The depth of the 2014 draft class is well-documented, being regarded as arguably the best class of receivers in NFL history. On the other hand, this year's class is extremely deep as well.

And the Jaguars GM believes it is deep enough that some undrafted wide receivers will have successful careers:

“It’s very deep, and I think you will see some (wide receivers) that go undrafted and have really good careers, and you’ll see some players in the later rounds that will come in and make an immediate impact,” Caldwell said, via USA Today. “Definitely top-heavy in the first round, and then you have four or five guys in each round that you will feel good about drafting.”

Throughout the draft process, CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, and Henry Ruggs have been listed in the top tier of receivers. Then, there's also guys like Justin Jefferson, Denzel Mims, Tee Higgins, Brandon Aiyuk, Laviska Shenault, etc., that all could go early in the draft.

There's no doubt that the 2014 NFL Draft class of receivers lived up to the expectations, producing plenty of Pro Bowlers. Could we finally have a draft class that rivals the one in 2014?

Caldwell and other GM's in the NFL certainly believe so.
