The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed free-agent linebacker Jake Ryan, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Ryan spent the 2018 campaign with the Green Bay Packers, but did not play at all due to a torn ACL.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Michigan, was originally selected by the Packers in the fourth round (129th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He played in 14 games during his rookie campaign, finishing with 46 tackles and a fumble recovery. Then, the following year, Ryan appeared in 14 more contests, registering 81 tackles and three passes defended.

The Fairview, Oh. native proceeded to participate in 15 games in 2017, totaling 79 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Ryan spent four seasons at Michigan, concluding his collegiate career by racking up 112 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, two sacks, an interception, and a couple of forced fumbles during his senior campaign.

He made an impact right from the start with the Wolverines, recording 37 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, three sacks, a forced fumble, and a pair of fumble recoveries in his freshman year. Ryan then posted 88 stops, 16 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles during his sophomore season before tallying just 30 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss in his junior campaign.

The Jaguars are coming off of a 2018 season in which they won just five games, one year after making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game and coming within a quarter of beating the New England Patriots and making it to the Super Bowl.
