The Jacksonville Jaguars were finally able to get back into the win column against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7. It appears they will also be able to welcome back a familiar face in quarterback Nick Foles.

Foles is slated to make his return to practice since being sidelined with a broken collarbone he suffered in the 2019 NFL season opener. Head coach Doug Marrone anticipates that the Jaguars will take a cautious approach with his recovery, via the team’s website.

“We’ve got time, so we’ll just kind of gradually work him back in there,” Marrone said. “I know he has been throwing on the side. I just want to make sure we’re good with the reps and building it up, not trying to do too much too fast. We’ll be smart this week and then we’ll see how it progresses.”

This is the first week the Foles is allowed to return to practice after being placed on injured reserve. Although he will not be eligible to play until after Week 9, Marrone's comments indicate that Jacksonville will be looking to take things slow to start.

Much has happened since Foles went including the emergence of backup quarterback Gardner Minshew. Not only did the rookie prove to be a viable replacement under center, but his stellar performance early on provided one of the more intriguing storylines surrounding the Jaguars this season.

There is no question Marrone has quite the decision to make in the coming weeks. Regardless, it is safe to say that Jacksonville is in no rush for Foles to return earlier than he needs to.
