Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey is listed as questionable for his team's game against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday due to a back issue, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Rapoport added it would be a “major surprise” if Ramsey plays.

Ramsey returned to practice this week after seeing a back specialist.

Of course, Ramsey's injury comes at a time where he has also been at odds with the Jaguars' front office.

During Jacksonville's Week 2 loss to the Houston Texans, Ramsey got into a heated sideline confrontation with head coach Doug Marrone. He then met with Jags management after the game, and not long after, he asked for a trade.

Ramsey played during the Jaguars' Thursday night win over the Tennessee Titans the following week, but he missed Week 4's victory over the Denver Broncos due to the birth of his daughter and was sidelined last week due to his back injury.

Jacksonville does not seem to be in any hurry to trade Ramsey before the Week 8 deadline, which does not come as much of a surprise given that Ramsey is under contract through the end of 2020.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Florida State, was originally by the Jaguars with the fifth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

It did not take Ramsey long to stamp his name among the best cornerbacks in football, as he made back-to-back Pro Bowls in 2017 and 2018, including a First-Team All-Pro selection in the former year.

In three games this season, Ramsey has logged 17 tackles and a forced fumble.
