The Jacksonville Jaguars are going to be without one of their key pieces on the defensive side of the ball, at least for the first couple days of training camp. Star cornerback Jalen Ramsey announced on Twitter that he will be missing the first few days of camp because of the birth of his son.

ā€œFor me, family is among the most important things in my life, along with my faith and football. Today starts a new chapter in my life, as Bre and I are blessed to welcome our baby into this world,ā€ Ramsey said on Twitter. ā€œWith that said, I want to let everyone know that I'll be in Tennessee with my family, and as soon as I'm comfortable knowing my family is healthy and happy, I'll return to Jacksonville to rejoin my teammates on our quest to handle some unfinished business. Appreciate all the love and support.ā€

In football terms, his son's birth happened at about the best time it could during the season. Ramsey has an established role with the team and he won't miss much in the first few days of training camp. He already has the defensive system down, so that shouldn't be an issue.

When Ramsey does get back on the field he will join one of the best defensiveĀ teams in football. The expectations are high for the Jaguars this season, and a big reason why is Ramsey's ability. F0r now, it's a couple of important family days before he reports.

Congrats to the Ramsey family on the birth of their boy!
