The Week 1 matchup to begin the 2018 season features the New York Giants taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars where the individual showdown between star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey could take center stage.

Ahead of the marquee matchup against Beckham Jr., Ramsey recently voiced during his UNINTERRUPTED series entitled “Twentyland” that he believes he will have more motivation to prove himself on the field.

“Odell, he has a lot to prove in that first game. But, I would say I do too. I don't think he has anything at stake to be honest. He just got paid. He's going to go out there, be loose, and play how he plays. For me on the other hand, it’s, quote on quote, a bigger game for me.”

Ramsey is more than focused on getting the upper hand in the matchup against Beckham Jr. on Sunday afternoon as it will mark the first time that two have played against each other in their respective careers. The 23-year-old has developed into one of the league's top cornerbacks in his first two years in the NFL. He is coming off a breakout 2017 season where he earned his first Pro Bowl selection and First-Team All-Pro nod.

Meanwhile, Beckham Jr. did receive a record-setting extension last week, but he has put himself in the position to earn that with his play on the field up to this point. He has earned the reputation as being one of the top players in the NFL at his position behind his elite level of production that saw him become the first player to post at least 90 catches for 1,300 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons.

This should all set up what could be a highly entertaining meeting between two of the game's most exciting players on their respective sides of the ball.
