One of the intriguing names that could hit the free agent market this offseason is Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson. His teammate All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey took to social media onĀ Monday evening to make it clear that he wants Robinson to stay for the long haul in Jacksonville.

Robinson is set to become a free agent for the first time in his career this offseason, but it's evident that there is significant interest from both the front office and his teammates to keep him in the fold. There have already been reports that the Jaguars are heavily considering using the franchise tag on him to at least keep him under contract for next season if no long-term deal can be reached.

Robinson, unfortunately, suffered a torn ACL in the season opener that put him out of the mix for the rest of the season. Prior to that injury, Robinson had demonstrated that he could be one of theĀ more productiveĀ receivers in the NFL.

He put together aĀ breakout 2015 campaign, making 80 catches for 1,400 receiving yards and a league-leading 14 touchdowns to earn a Pro Bowl selection. Robinson was also the first Jaguars receiver to compile over 1,000 receiving yards in a single season since Jimmy Smith back in 2005.

He did experience a decline in production in 2016, registering 73 catches for 883 receiving yards and six touchdowns, but it hasn't really diminished his status as a No.1-caliber wide receiver.Ā What should give the franchise more reason to bring the 24-year-old back is he is on track to be ready well ahead of the 2018 campaign.

If the front office does place the franchise tag on Robinson, he will figure to be a play a huge part in the offense as Jacksonville will look to build upon their first AFC Championship Game appearanceĀ since 1999. Ultimately, this entire situation should sort itself out over the next few weeks.
