Jacksonville Jaguars star Jalen Ramsey wasn't shy on Thursday night about his thoughts on his next contract. Talking on an Instagram live video with Leonard Fournette, Ramsey made it clear that he wouldn't be giving any hometown discounts to his current club.

It's unclear what exactly prompted this conversation, but earlier this week Ramsey announced the team wouldn't be giving him an extension this off-season.

“Next year, especially after I ball, they’re going to come to me ‘Hey, you know, we want to holler at you,” Ramsey said, and then whistles. “That number is going to be so ungodly. … They’re going to say, ‘Oh god, can’t we get a little discount, 20 percent off?'”

Ramsey did say that if the team would have offered an extension this off-season there might have been a discount but because the team didn't want to do that, he is expecting a full payday next year.

“I’m going to tell them last year you could have gotten that discount,” Ramsey said. “This year, (more head shakes). I’m going to need all of that.”

The Jaguars did pick up Ramsey's fifth-year option so he is under contract through the 2020 season but the team will have a decision to make after that.

Why exactly the Jaguars didn't offer an extension to Ramsey is unclear, but if the team decides they want to keep him past the 2020 season they might regret not doing the extension this offseason. This will be a story that should develop more in the next couple of years.
