Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Jay Gruden has big plans for wide receiver DJ Chark.

The Jaguars are coming off a disappointing 6-10 season, and fans are hoping that the addition of Gruden as the play-caller will give the offense a boost moving forward.

While Gruden struggled as head coach of the Washington Redskins, he's considered one of the better offensive minds in the NFL, and that's something that should give Jacksonville an opportunity to improve on that side of the ball.

Of course, Chark will play a key role in doing so, and Gruden discussed his expectations for the emerging star, courtesy of Jaguars team reporter Ashlyn Sullivan:

“He is playing with a load of confidence right now; I think we can do a little more with him and get him inside and in the slot. He is hungry and wants to be great, he is going to have a very bright future.”

Chark had 73 receptions for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns during the 2019 season, and he'll undoubtedly be the focus of the Jacksonville passing game next season.

What should also help Chark is his chemistry with starting quarterback Gardner Minshew, who is now the clear starter under center after Jacksonville traded Nick Foles to the Chicago Bears in the offseason.

The Jaguars still have a lot of work to do to get back to being an AFC contender once again, but Chark is a reliable playmaker that should give them an opportunity to start building towards that goal.
