Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Leonard Fournette has been an integral part of the relatively surprising success the team is having so far this season. That said, Fournette might not be able to help the Jaguars get their fourth win of the year this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts due to an ankle injury.

Fournette, however, stressed that he’s healthy and ready to play against the Colts despite missing Thursday’s practice, according to Ryan O'Halloran‏ of the Florida Times-Union.

Fournette: “It's up to my coaches whether I'm going to play or not. … Most definitely [healthy enough to play].”

Fournette tweaked his ankle that left him hopping to the sidelines during last Sunday’s 27-17 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, though he’d already gashed Los Angeles’ defense for 130 rushing yards by the time he exited the contest, including a 75-yard TD dash on Jacksonville's first offensive play from scrimmage.

If Fournette eventually isn’t given a go by the team to play in Week 7, Chris Ivory will take over as the lead back, with T.J. Yeldon possibly getting his first snaps of the season, too.

Behind Fournette’s exploits, the Jaguars have become the best rushing team in the league through six weeks of the season, averaging 165.8 rushing yards per game.
