Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette is coming off a solid yet unspectacular rookie campaign. Fortunately, it appears as though he is already looking to make improvements.

There is no question that Fournette's combination of size and speed make him one of the most exciting, young backs in the NFL. It seems he has stepped up his training regimen since last offseason after showing up to Organized Team Activites looking noticeably slimmer, via ESPN's Michael DiRocco:

Fournette was touted as the top running back in the draft last year and was eventually taken by Jacksonville with the fourth overall pick. He quickly proved why after rushing for 100 yards in his career debut. The former LSU star finished the year with 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns. He also managed to haul in 36 catches for 302 yards and a touchdown.

Unfortunately, minor injuries and a violation of the team rules led to him missing three games. It was in those games that the Jaguars proved they were just fine without him. Not only did they manage to win all three, but the Jaguars even averaged more rushing yards per game than when Fournette was active. Furthermore, his 3.9 yards per carry was nothing to be ecstatic about.

It is not uncommon for players to undergo a bit of a body transformation after their first season in the NFL, especially at the running back position. Fournette has proven that his speed and physicality sets him apart from the other players on the field. However, perhaps a lighter frame will help him better handle the rigors of a full season.
