The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off clinching their first playoff berth since 2007 after winning the AFC South division title.

Things appear to be continuing to trend in the right direction as rookie running back Leonard Fournette has returned to practice on Wednesday, according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN.

Fournette had missed Sunday's game against the Houston Texans due to the quad injury, which marked the third game this season that he has missed. The Jaguars were able to get by without him with Chirs Ivory, T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant carrying the load in his absence totaling a combined 443 rushing yards and three touchdowns in those three contests.

That said, Fournette has proven to be a reliable workhorse running back in his first year helping lead the league's best running attack while ranking eighth with 923 rushing yards in just 11 games played. This includes rushing for more than 100 yards five times while scoring at least a touchdown on seven occasions this season. He is also second among rookies in rushing yards, and first in both rushing touchdowns and attempts (21.0) per contest.

His potential return to the fold will help the Jaguars make their serious push to potentially lock up a first-round bye in the playoffs. They will close the season out against the San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans both o the road. The 49ers currently boast the 22nd-best defense against the run allowing 119.2 yards per game.
