The Jacksonville Jaguars will have to face the Philadelphia Eagles in London without running back Leonard Fournette, who has been officially ruled out once again due to his lingering hamstring injury, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
However, Rapoport adds that the hope is Fournette will finally be able to make his return following their bye against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 10.
Fournette has not featured since Week 4 and has appeared in just two halves this season due to his hamstring troubles. The Jaguars recently traded for Carlos Hyde from the Cleveland Browns to provide more reliable production at the running back spot as they await Fournette’s return. Hyde is set to make his Jaguars debut against the Eagles.
T.J. Yeldon is also going to continue contributing to Fournette’s absence. Yeldon has had a strong season thus far, racking up 590 yards from scrimmage with five touchdowns through the first seven weeks.
But Fournette is far from the only injury concern the Jaguars have against the Eagles. D.J. Hayden has also been ruled out once again, joining fellow cornerbacks A.J. Bouye and Tyler Patmon as absentees.
That means that of the Jaguars’ top four corners, only Jalen Ramsey will play in London against Philly. Rookies Quenton Meeks and Tre Herndon will now have to step up in those players’ absence.
With no Fournette, Bouye, and their two other cornerbacks, the struggling Jaguars will be hard-pressed to leave London with a win against the Eagles. But hopefully for the Jaguars, he can make it back after the bye and lead them to a late-season playoff push.
