The Jacksonville Jaguars had quite a remarkable turnaround last season as they won 10 games, a seven-win improvement from their 3-13 campaign in 2016. They’re obviously not going to improve by seven wins again in 2018, but defensive tackle Malik Jackson thinks they’ll still up their total to six — which would mean having a zero on the loss column and an undefeated season.

“I think we're going 16-0,” Jackson told TMZ Sports.

“I'm callin' it, 16-0. I don't think anybody can beat us as long as we stay healthy and do what we're supposed to do.”

Jackson is no stranger to throwing out superlative predictions. Around this time last year, Jackson said the Jaguars were going to win the Super Bowl, and after that, go 16-0.

That Super Bowl prediction didn’t quite come true, but it sure came closer than anyone expected. The Jaguars had the Patriots on the ropes in the AFC Championship Game before ultimately coming up short.

Jackson was part of the Jaguars defense which was mainly responsible for the team’s marked improvement. Cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and AJ Bouye were both outstanding, while the likes of Jackson, Calais Campbell, Dante Fowler, and Yannick Ngaukoue earned them their “Sackonville” nickname.

Obviously, Jackson and the Jaguars most likely won’t go a perfect 16-0. Chances are they won’t stay healthy, and they also won’t catch anyone by surprise like they did last year. But after coming within a win of reaching the Super Bowl last year, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the Jaguars still end up having one of the best records in the AFC this season.
