The Jacksonville Jaguars have not had the season they were hoping for after making it to the AFC championship game last year but defensive tackle Malik Jackson doesn't think the season is over just yet. The Jaguars have lost five straight games, but until the season ends on December 30th against the Houston Texans, they aren't giving up.

“Our season isn’t over,” defensive tackle Malik Jackson said via The Florida Times Union. “We just have to stop putting ourselves in bad positions like letting teams get up on us and we have to dig back and fight.”

The Jaguars currently sit with a 3-6 record and although they aren't officially eliminated from playoff contention, they really can't have any more slip-ups if they want to get back into the postseason.

Since 1990 when the playoffs expanded only four teams starting with a 3-6 record made it into the postseason. with one of those teams being the 1996 Jaguars.

Linebacker Telvin Smith also thinks that the Jaguars are a prideful group and that they will be able to fight through this adversity and turn the season around.

“That’s the thing about this game of football when things are going great, they go great,” linebacker Telvin Smith said. “When things are going bad, it’s tough to get it turned around. But that’s why the great players or the great people around the league last. Because of times of adversity, it takes real strong men to stand up and deal with it. We’ll pull together. I’ve seen a lot of fight. I think this group is prideful.”

The Jaguars will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend and it is a must win.
