Marcell Dareus being a Jacksonville Jaguar is going to be a neat thing for the defensive standout. Going from one NFL franchise that has had its moments, but plays in a difficult division, to another that seems ready for a playoff push, has to be good.

Also good? His new teammates feeling like Marcell Dareus will make a huge impact with the Jaguars.

“I like this trade a lot,” new Jags teammate Calais Campbell said, via the Florida Times-Union. “I’ve studied [Dareus’] game since he came into the league [in 2011]. I always thought of him as a great player. He’s really good against both the run and the pass. One thing that I think is underappreciated is that he’s always around the ball in the run game. He has been clogging up holes and handling business for years.”

Marcell Dareus came to the National Football League with all the hype. Jaguars players obviously have a reason to be excited.

The Bills selected Dareus third overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. He then lived up to the hype, making two consecutive Pro Bowls, first in 2013, then also in 2014, when he was named first-team All-Pro.

Jacksonville, a team already with a good defense, is clearly trying to double-down on its approach to success. With the offense being inconsistent, bringing in Dareus is clearly a move by the front-office the invokes a confidence in Jacksonville's chances to make the playoffs the season.

Whether or not the quarterback play allows that to actually come to fruition remains unknown.
