Matthew Stafford became the first starting quarterback in the NFL to be placed on the COVID-19 reserve list and there is now another starter joining Stafford. Before his first season as the unquestioned full-time starter for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Gardner Minshew was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

As a sixth-round pick for the Jaguars in the 2019 NFL Draft, Minshew was quickly thrust into action. When Nick Foles went down with a shoulder injury in Week 1, Minshew was asked to take his place.

Despite being a late-round selection, Minshew impressed in his time as the starter last season for the Jaguars. The Washington State product would finish his rookie campaign with 3,271 yards, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Along with his stellar numbers, Minshew instantly became a fan-favorite with his cut-off jean shorts, headband, and legendary mustache.

With NFL training camps — the Jaguars included — getting ready to begin, Minshew will seemingly begin them on the COVID-19 reserve list. Even though it's unclear what players must do to be removed from the list, he'll likely need to produce negative tests before he returns.

Although, it remains to be seen if Minshew tested positive for COVID-19, or if he was in contact with someone that displayed symptoms of the coronavirus, possibly from the Jaguars.

If Minshew is unable to begin training camp with the Jaguars, veteran Mike Glennon would likely get the nod at starter. Also, besides Minshew, the Jaguars added four other players to the COVID-19 reserve list. Those players include Ryquell Armstead, Charles Jones, Michael Walker, and Andrew Wingard.
