The Jacksonville Jaguars were a hit in their first game of the season, as they took down the Houston Texans on the road with a rousing 29-7 victory Sunday. The Jaguars’ defense was an absolute nightmare for the Texans, with Jacksonville limiting Houston to only 203 total yards while recording 10 sacks and forcing four turnovers.

On the other end of the field, things weren’t as smooth as the Jags wanted them to be, as wide receiver Allen Robinson exited the game due to a left knee injury in the first period. Allen was eventually ruled out of the contest, as reported by Mike Clay of ESPN.

Initial tests were not promising:

Before leaving the game, Allen caught the lone pass that came his way, which he reeled in for 17 yards. The severity of Allen’s injury is not confirmed, but it sure was a bad start to the season for the wide receiver, who is looking to bounce back from an underwhelming 2016-17 campaign in which the Penn State product caught just 883 receiving yards and six touchdowns, much fewer than the numbers (1,400 receiving yards, 14 receiving touchdowns) he put up the year before.

Up ahead for the Jaguars is a showdown with the Tennessee Titans at home next Sunday. Should Robinson be declared out for that contest as it appears he will be, Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee would be the top targets downfield for Blake Bortles.
