Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne dealt with a season-ending injury last summer before his rookie campaign even got started. Since then, he's been working hard at rehabbing and getting back to full strength in the hope of making a big impact for the team in 2022 alongside QB and former Clemson teammate Trevor Lawrence.

Before Etienne got hurt, the Jaguars had the plan of using him at RB and as a wide receiver, similar to how the 49ers utilize Deebo Samuel. In Etienne's eyes, he loves the idea of being a hybrid-type player.

Via Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports:

“If I’m in those positions throughout the game and we get good matchups, we’ll be able to exploit them,” Etienne said. “So it’s just me being able to do more and being valuable. Football is all about matchups so I mean if I could be like Deebo Samuel, I would love that. Honestly the game is a game of productivity. If you can produce, the team is always going to have a need for you. It’s just trying to be the best player I can be so I can be on the field at all times.”

Of course, Samuel isn't pleased with his two-position role, but Etienne is a fan of trying it out for the Jaguars. Even if he can make just half the impact as Deebo did in San Francisco, Jacksonville's offense will definitely benefit in a big way.
