The Jacksonville Jaguars selected former Clemson star Trevor Lawrence with the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft after a stellar career in college. Lawrence has officially been named the starter is ready to kick off his NFL career this weekend.
However, the Jaguars gunslinger made a bet against one of his teammates as Clemson faced Georgia in their openers for the college football season. The Bulldogs won in a defensive showing, and Lawrence had to pay the price after losing the best.
Clemson fans, avert your eyes.

Terry Godwin, the Jaguars receiver and former Georgia player, made the bet against Lawrence and prevailed. The pair of top-five teams faced off, and Georgia won in a strange showing by the score of 10-3. In a weird day, neither offense scored, and the one touchdown came via a Christopher Smith pick-six off of the throw by D.J. Uiagalelei. Furthermore, Lawrence was in attendance.
But, Lawrence had to pay up, and the Jaguars' teammates were having a little bit of fun in the process. Now they will focus on their season opener, which is Sunday against the Houston Texans and seems like a game the Jaguars should win, especially with Deshaun Watson not playing and Tyrod Taylor being named the starter.
