Several NFL Draft analysts are predicting that the Jacksonville Jaguars will draft a quarterback in the first round. However, according to Peter King of NBC Sports, the Jaguars aren’t interested in drafting a quarterback and want to give Gardner Minshew a real shot at quarterback next season. Here's what King said on Football Morning in America:

Not a quarterback, I hear. “They really want to give Gardner Minshew a real shot,” one FOC (Friend of Caldwell) says. Defensive impact player like Swiss-Army-knifish Isaiah Simmons makes sense. The biggest question for Jags on draft weekend revolves around the latest really good cornerstone player who wants out, Yannick Ngakoue. Can Caldwell find a fair deal for the defensive end

It's no surprise because Minshew had a phenomenal rookie season in the 2019-2020 NFL campaign. The 23-year-old finished off the season with 3,271 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and only six interceptions. In addition, Minshew set multiple franchise records throughout his rookie season. He was the first rookie quarterback in Jaguars’ history to throw for 900 or more yards in his first four games.
This offseason, the Jaguars front office mainly focused on adding more depth to their defense. Despite improving their defense, the Jaguars still have plenty of needs on offense. If they want Minshew to succeed next season, they'll need to provide him with more offensive weapons. With 12 picks in this year's draft, it's likely they'll be selecting numerous offensive players.
Nevertheless, after adding offensive coordinator Jay Gruden, it'll be interesting to the adjustments they make with Minshew at quarterback.
