The Philadelphia 76ers selected Jahlil Okafor with the 3rd overall pick and despite the team's inability to capture a win so far, Okafor has performed quite admirably.

On this play however, he failed big time.

Okafor blocked Dallas Mavericks' swingman Wesley Matthews and decided to initiate the fastbreak with the ball in his hands. When he realized that a few Mavs had managed to get back on defense, it all fell apart.

Rookie mistakes are not uncommon, but throwing the ball off of your teammate's back is a little out of the ordinary:
