Phoenix Suns veteran and former Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Jamal Crawford says Derrick Rose is one his favorite players who is younger than him.

Crawford, who played with Rose on the Timberwolves in 2017-18, says most of his favorite players of all-time are of a prior generation.

Crawford is 39. Rose, meanwhile, is 30.

Rose is coming off a good season with the Timberwolves. The 2011 MVP averaged 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from beyond the arc, and 85.6 percent from the free-throw line. His bounce-back season was limited to just 51 games, though, after nagging elbow pain that sidelined him eventually led to surgery to remove bone chips in late March.

Crawford was one of the many players in the league who reacted on Twitter when Rose scored a career-high 50 points on Halloween against the Utah Jazz earlier this season. Rose's performance captivated the NBA world, evidence of just how beloved he remains in league circles after undergoing four knee surgeries since becoming the youngest MVP in NBA history with the Chicago Bulls.

Crawford had a signature moment of his own earlier this week, trying to steal the spotlight from Dirk Nowitzki in the Dallas Mavericks legend's final home game by dropping 51 points.

Before Crawford's historic outing, Michael Jordan, during his first season with the Washington Wizards, had been the oldest player of all-time to score at least 50 points in a game, doing so at the age of 38.
