It would be unfair to say the Houston Rockets aren't being thorough in their head coaching search.

After interviewing San Antonio Spurs assistant James Borrego – the 12th known person the Rockets have shown interest in – he will meet this week with the team's owner, Leslie Alexander, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Once again, the Rockets' coaching search takes another turn when it looked like it was nearing an end. Last week, it was reported that Philadelphia 76ers associate head coach Mark D'Antoni and Charlotte Hornets assistant Stephen Silas were the two main contenders for the job.

Borrego has spent much of his career working under legendary Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. He does have some head coaching experience, however, as he held the position with the Orlando Magic on an interim basis in 2015. From 2010 to 2012, he served as an assistant with the New Orleans Hornets before taking an assistant position with the Magic until his promotion in 2015.

The Memphis Grizzlies have also shown interest in Borrego for their vacant head coach spot.
