The Los Angeles Rams are one of the better teams that the NFL has to offer, but they are currently struggling to string together wins that will convince people they're Superb Bowl-bound once again this season. They aren't looking as outstanding as their 2018 campaign, and this can be pointed as the responsibility of one person and one person only.

Jared Goff has been the key for the Rams' rise to the top of the NFC over the past couple of years. However, it's been clear over the past couple of games he's not performing to the usual standards that have been expected out of him. His form will be integral to the Rams' playoff hopes, and he needs to pick up the pace if he wants to return to the Super Bowl this year.

A quick check at Goff's performances over the first five games of the season will explain why the Rams have struggled on offense so far this season.

The biggest thing that pops out in the stat sheet is his overall passing numbers. There's been a significant drop in his passing yards in his first five weeks. The first three games of the season didn't see him break the 300-yard marker. However, he since made up with an incredible 517 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 395 against the Seattle Seahawks. Last season, four of his first five games saw him break the 300-yard barrier.

Another important metric to check out is Goff's completion rates. He was laser-accurate last season, with more than a 70% accuracy from Week 2 to Week 5. However, his accuracy took a dip this season. His highest accuracy rating was at 68% against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2. He needs to improve on his pass selection if he wants to help stop the losing skid his team is currently on.

Speaking of pass selection, the biggest issue relating to Goff's passing woes this season is his interceptions. He only threw four during the first five games of the 2018 season. This year, he's already at seven, closing in on his career-high of 12 last season. He needs to be more careful with his throws as it seems like defenses have already figured out how he plays.

Of course, it's still early in the season for people to make quick judgments about the team just yet. He himself reminded everyone that the New England Patriots also started 2018 with a similar record last season.

However, he needs to show everyone what he's made of. If he doesn't play to the exceedingly high standards he set last season, then fans can technically count them out of the competition for the Super Bowl.
