Jarrett Allen was a five-star recruit out of high school and he was ranked the 15th overall player in the Class of 2016. He then committed to play college basketball for the University of Texas at Austin.

In his freshman year at Texas, he averaged 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds a gamer for the Longhorns. Unfortunately, they finished the season with a disappointing record of 11-22. Allen’s best game with the Longhorns was when he scored 22 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in a 12-point loss to Kansas.

After one season, Jarrett Allen decided to forgo the remaining three years of college eligibility and enter the NBA Draft.

In the 2017 NBA Draft, the Brooklyn Nets selected Jarrett Allen with the 22nd overall pick. He then signed a four-year $10 million contract with the Nets. Obviously, this would go on to help to add to Jarrett Allen’s net worth in 2022.

Jarrett Allen made his NBA debut at the age of 19 years and 182 days, making him the second-youngest Nets player to ever set foot on an NBA court, just behind Derrick Favors. He finished the game with 9 points on 3 of 3 shooting, two rebounds, and one block.

He made his first career start in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers where he had 16 points and 12 rebounds in an eight-point win.

In his rookie season, Jarrett Allen played in a total of 72 games and started in 31 of them. He averaged 8.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.

He continued to up his average year after year. The following season, he averaged 10.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. In the 2019-2020 season, he had 11.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.

In the 2020-2021 season, Jarrett Allen started in 5 games of the 12 that he played for the Brooklyn Nets before being involved in the blockbuster deal that sent former NBA MVP James Harden to the Nets.

The trade was a three-team deal that involves the Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Houston Rockets. Jarrett Allen was packaged alongside Taurean Prince, Rodions Kurucs, Caris LeVert, and a couple of picks to the Cavs.

He played 51 more games, with 41 starts, to finish the 2020-2021 season with the Cavs. He had 12.8 points, 10 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks a game that year.

Before the start of the 2021-2022 season, Jarrett Allen secured the bag as he signed a lucrative contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers worth $100 million for 5 years.

“It can’t be overstated enough that the coaching staff and front office wanted me to be in Cleveland long-term,” said Allen. “I will forever be grateful for this opportunity and it’s an honor to continue representing the Cavs and becoming more entrenched into this community. I’m also excited about improving with my teammates. We have some really talented, young and hungry players in this locker room and I can’t wait to get back on the court with them to see how far we can take this thing.”

In their season opener, Jarrett Allen became the first player in NBA history since the shot clock was introduced in the 1954-1955 season to make 10 or more field goals without a miss in a season-opening game. Unfortunately, it came at a loss against the Memphis Grizzlies with a score of 132-121.

Due to his performance that season, Jarrett Allen was chosen to his first NBA All-Star Game — ironically, as a replacement for James Harden whom he was traded for the year prior. He played for Team LeBron.

Not only that, but he represented the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge during NBA All-Star Saturday Night. Their team consisted of himself, rookie Evan Mobley, and fellow All-Star Darius Garland. They defeated Team Rooks (Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham, and Josh Giddey) and Team Antetokounmpo (Giannis, Alex, and Thanasis Antetokounmpo).

Jarrett Allen capped off the season averaging career-highs in points and rebounds as he had 16.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.3 blocks a game. Together with Evan Mobley, they helped the Cavs improve from a .306 winning percentage and league’s sixth-worst defense to a .537 winning percentage and the league’s best defense.

The Cavs finished the regular season with a record of 44-38, enough for a play-in game spot. Unfortunately, they failed to win a game against the Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks to secure a spot in the NBA playoffs.

Jarrett Allen and the Cleveland Cavaliers have surely blossomed into a decent team in the East. Their rebuild resulted in a dangerous team and they are expected to make a run in the playoffs in a couple of years.

With all of that being said, were you surprised about Jarrett Allen’s net worth in 2022?
