After participating in “The Basketball Tournament” this week, former NBA guard Jason Williams sat down for a press conference. He was asked about Kevin Durant’s much debated free agency decision to join the Golden State Warriors, among other topics.

Per Mike Ortiz Jr of Did You See That?!, White Chocolate had some strong words for those who criticized Durant’s decision, especially 11-time NBA All Star, Charles Barkley:

“If I was Kevin Durant and that’s what I wanted to do, then that’s what I would’ve done. I wouldn’t have made a decision based on anybody else. Because it seems like he’s done that for eight or nine years now. You know you’ve gotta take care of yourself and make yourself happy at the end of the day,” Williams said. “I mean all these guys, (Charles) Barkley and them talking about oh they wouldn’t have done it, well they was never free agents back in the day, like they didn’t have the choice. Nobody wanted his (Barkley’s) ass on their team because he was a loser. So that’s what I think about that.”

Now, it’s obviously the case that you don’t become an NBA MVP, All-Star Game MVP, and find yourself included on the All-NBA First Team five times by being a ‘loser’, but Williams clearly believes that Barkley doesn’t have the right to question Durant’s decision, as he wasn’t in that position himself.

You can almost guarantee that Barkley will respond to Williams’ comments in his usually candid manner, so this probably isn’t over.
