The Utah Jazz recently revealed that they would upgrade their 25-year-old home court. A franchise fresh off a rebuild and reinvention of their team, it seems that their arena will get the same treatment.

In the hopes of improving access, size, food and drink options and upgrading outdoor areas, the Jazz will pour $125 million into the new venue. One of the biggest improvements at Vivint Smart Home Arena will be the installation of a new large screen videoboard in the outdoor area for watch parties.

Gail Miller owner and chairman of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, said in a statement:

“The changes will benefit everyone who comes to the building for a sports event, concert or family show.”

Thankfully for fans, players and users of the venue, the majority of construction will happen outside of the NBA season and should be finished by October 2017.

Making major moves up the ranks of the NBA ladder in on court performance, it seems the upcoming and Jazz aim to the same with their new home arena.
