NBA commissioner Adam Silver says the Utah Jazz franchise handled the Russell Westbrook incident with the Utah fan very well.

The Jazz banned the fan who said a racial remark to Westbrook for life. Utah owner Gail Miller addressed the crowd at the next home game and told fans to not engage in inappropriate language with players.

The Jazz players, led by Donovan Mitchell and Kyle Korver, openly spoke about how the actions by the fan were sad to see. Silver is happy how the Jazz handled the situation.

The NBA fined Westbrook $25,000 after the former MVP yelled a profanity at the fan. Overall, the Jazz organization and players handled the affair as best as they could.

The fans in Utah have a history of being offensive toward players. It appears, though, that the fans were on their best behavior after the Westbrook incident during the regular season and playoffs. Sometimes it takes a controversial incident to spark a change. Hopefully, that's the case here with the Jazz fans.

Next season will be where we get to see if the fans have learned their lesson, especially when the Thunder and Westbrook come to town.

That game will definitely have a lot of eyes on it.
