Utah Jazz small forward Bojan Bogdanovic underwent season-ending surgery on his right wrist on Tuesday.

The Jazz swingman then took to Twitter to share the news of his successful procedure:

The Croatian international is expected to be ready for the start of the 2020-21 season. He originally injured his right wrist in a late November game.

Utah learned that Bogdanovic's discomfort from the wrist injury emerged again during the COVID-19 shutdown. That led to the decision to get the surgery done as soon as possible.

The Jazz signed the 31-year-old forward to a four-year, $73 million deal last summer in free agency. The sharpshooter was averaging 20.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 63 games this season. He also shot 44.7 percent from the field, 41.4 percent from beyond the arc and 90.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Before the season was suspended, the Jazz were in fourth place in the rugged Western Conference standings with a 41-23 record. If the season resumes in the summer, the absence of Bojan Bogdanovic will hurt Utah since he's the second dynamic scorer the team needs next to All-Star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell to take the pressure off the high-flyer from time to time.

Bogdanovic, who began his NBA career with the Brooklyn Nets, has career averages of 14.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 462 games with the Nets, Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers and Jazz. Utah has to be pleased that Bojan will be at 100 percent whenever the 2020-21 season begins.
