At halftime in the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Utah Jazz, the former were down by 29 points, 62-33. It was a beatdown not expected by many. In fact, it is the Warriors' biggest first-half deficit in 12 years.

On December 30, 2006, the Warriors were down by 31 points, 43-74, against the Sacramento Kings come halftime. The Warriors team back in 2006 wasn't as loaded as their team now. Several players on the roster included Matt Barnes, Baron Davis, Troy Murphy, Monta Ellis, Al Harrington, and some other decent players.

In their game against the Jazz, Stephen Curry did not play as he is still nursing an MCL sprain. Despite this, their top players Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green were there.

Despite this, the Warriors struggled from the field. Their shots were just not falling. It didn't help that the Jazz started out red hot from the field.

The final score was a beatdown: 79-119. The Warriors shot just 34.9 percent from the field and 26.3 percent from downtown. Only Thompson got it going with 23 points but shot just 33.3 percent from the field.

For the Jazz, several players scored in double figures including Donovan Mitchell with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field and 4-of-5 from downtown.

It's the final game of the season for the Warriors. They are now headed to the playoffs holding the second seed in the Western Conference.

The Jazz, meanwhile, have to take care of the Portland Trail Blazers tomorrow night in the season finale. Both teams hold a record of 48-33. Whoever wins will secure the third seed.
