Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles is one of the most unassuming players in the league. He doesn’t look athletic, fast, nor imposing. But he’s an effective role player who will always find a way to contribute to his team.

His role, however, has grown since Gordon Hayward ditched the Jazz for the Boston Celtics. Today, he has to score a little bit more and be more involved in facilitating a Utah offense that is arguably still finding its identity.

For Ingles' teammate, Derrick Favors, another area where the Australian seemed to have improved on is his speed, according to Kyle Goon of The Salt Lake Tribune.

“He’s faster,” said Favors, before adding a qualification: “… Faster than he was in previous years.”

For what it’s worth, Favors appears to be right, as Joe Ingles’ average speed is up to 4.44 this season from 4.11 a year ago, per NBA.com.

Ingles is under contract with the Jazz until 2021 after signing a four-year, $52 million deal with the team last July. As a full-blown starter this season, Ingles is averaging career highs in points (10.2), rebounds (4.3), assists (3.5), steals (1.3), and minutes (29.2) per game through the Jazz’s first 19 games.
