Unlike last offseason, Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell says he already his 2019 summer schedule mapped out.

After bursting onto the NBA scene last year as a rookie, Mitchell's 2018 summer was a lot to handle for the youngster, who admits he didn't approach it the right way.

That won't be the case this offseason; the Jazz's leading scorer is ready to attack the summer with force.

Mitchell had another stellar regular season for the Jazz. The high-flyer averaged 23.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the field, 36.2 percent beyond the arc, and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Mitchell guided the Jazz to the fifth seed in the rugged Western Conference. Utah took on James Harden and the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs. The Rockets won in five games and it was a series to forget for Mitchell.

Mitchell shot just 32.1 percent overall and 25.6 percent from the 3-point line in the five-game series. Everyone inside the Jazz organization knows Mitchell is going to be motivated all summer to atone for his poor shooting in the playoffs. It's going to be fun to see what type of player Mitchell becomes in 2019-20.

The Jazz and their fans are looking forward to the finished product after a hard summer of work. One doesn't know how far the team will go in the coming season, but it is clear that significant improvements from Mitchell lie at the heart of any effort to advance deeper in the playoffs.
