Utah Jazz star guard Donovan Mitchell has surpassed Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Stephen Curry for the most 3-pointers made in a playoff series.

In Game 7, Mitchell eclipsed Curry after draining his 33rd 3-pointer of the series in their first-round duel with the Denver Nuggets. Curry drained 32 3-pointers in a series on two occasion: in the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers and 2016 Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both series extended to seven games.

It is also worth noting that Klay Thompson is right up there with 30 triplrd made in the 2016 Western Conference Finals as well.

Perhaps what makes this record special is that Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray is right behind the Jazz star with 32 treys made in the series. The two have been going at it all series long, with both players dropping two 50-point games each in their first-round showdown.

Mitchell himself scored 57-points in their Game 1 overtime loss. Murray, for his part, dropped 50 points in Game 6 that helped Denver set up Tuesday's do-or-die clash.

However, Donovan Mitchell might not care one bit about this record since it came at a loss and a playoff exit. Not to mention that they were up 3-1 in the series. All they needed was one win to boot the Nuggets out.

Now, Denver will face the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference Semifinals.

Nevertheless, the series between the Jazz and the Nuggets will live on as one of the best first-round duels of all time. Not only did if feature strong teams going at it for seven games, but also two budding stars who will be the face of the league for a long time.
