Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell has been given the questionable tag for Friday's contest against the Dallas Mavericks, as the 24-year-old continues to navigate the NBA's concussion protocol. Mitchell is now in danger of missing his second straight game for Utah after being forced to sit out Wednesday's first game against the Mavs.

This comes straight via the Utah Jazz on Twitter:

Mitchell sustained the injury on Tuesday as the Jazz logged a victory over the New York Knicks. The All-Star shooting guard took a couple of hits to the head throughout the contest, which ultimately resulted in Mitchell being placed on the league's concussion protocol on Wednesday. This could actually be the reason behind his poor showing against New York, as Mitchell uncharacteristically shot 3-of-15 from the floor for just nine points, to go along with eight boards, three assists, and two three-pointers.

In Mitchell's absence, Jazz head coach Quin Snyder called on Joe Ingles to start in lieu of his injured star. Ingles finished Wednesday's win over Dallas with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting, four rebounds, eight dimes, and a season-high seven triples.

Jordan Clarkson also had to step up his game sans Mitchell, and the current front-runner for this season's Sixth Man of the Year award took full advantage of the opportunity. Clarkson logged 33 minutes in the win, as he went off for a season-high 31 points on 11-of-21 from the floor, with four treys, seven boards, a steal, and a block.

With Mitchell out, both Ingles and Clarkson are expected to get some extra run. Mitchell's next chance to return will be on Sunday when the Jazz take on the Denver Nuggets.
