The Jazz were danger of being eliminated from this season's playoffs on Tuesday night. After dropping the first three games of their first round series against the Houston Rockets, Utah was on the verge of being swept. However, thanks to a second consecutive 30-point performance from Donovan Mitchell, the Jazz managed to walk away with a 107-91 victory.

According to a report from Justin Kubatko of StatMuse, Mitchell is the first Jazz player to record consecutive 30-point games in the playoffs since Karl Malone:

Mitchell logged 40 minutes in Monday's game, scoring 31 points on 11-of-26 shooting from the field (3-of-7 from beyond the arc), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal. 19 of his 31 points came in the final quarter.

Mitchell has struggled at times in this series. In fact, he turned the ball over twice in the first two minutes of Monday's game. Despite that fact, he says his teammates never lost confidence in him:

“My teammates have had my back with every mistake, everything I've done well,” Mitchell told ESPN. “When you have that support system in the locker room every day, it makes it easier when you start the game with two straight turnovers.

“We've had our backs against the wall plenty of times the past two years we've been together as a team,” Mitchell added. “This is familiar ground with us. Everybody responded the way we expect them to, but the biggest thing for us is take what we did today and multiply it.”

The Jazz and Rockets will meet for Game 5 on Wednesday night. Tip-off inside the Toyota Center is set for 8:00 p.m. ET, with TNT having live broadcast coverage.
