Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell was one of the first to take notice of his former teammate, Rodney Hood, and his tremendous performance for the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night.

Mitchell took two Twitter to share his experience with Hood as a teammate last season, and had nothing but wonderful things to say about the 6-foot-8 shooting guard.

While most may have sent praises towards Hood for the impact he had in Portland's 140-137 quadruple overtime victory against the Denver Nuggets, Mitchell's approach was different. The Jazz youngster spoke about Hood as a person and how much he helped him during his debut season in the league.

Hood played one of the best games of his career in his team's Game 3 victory, accounting for 19 points on a highly-efficient 6-of-8 shooting. The 26-year-old also sank two three-pointers in the game, with his second trey proving to be the difference in the tightly-contested ballgame. Hood's big three-pointer with 17 seconds left in the fourth overtime period put the Blazers ahead by two, and they would end up claiming the victory from there.

Hood and company foiled Nikola Jokic's monster night, as the Nuggets big man logged a awe-inspiring 33-point, 18-rebound, 14-assist triple-double in this one.

Thanks to Hood's heroics, the Blazers are now 2-1 up in the series. Game 4 in Portland will be on Sunday, and with momentum on their side, the Blazers will definitely look to take another step towards their quest to reach the Western Conference Finals.
