Donovan Mitchell went from hero to zero for a fleeting moment in the first quarter of the Utah Jazz's visit to the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday. In the opening quarter of the game, Mitchell got the ball back from a Derrick Favors steal and found himself all alone with acres of space. Unfortunately for the All-Star, his wide-open dunk bounced out of the rim which eventually gave the rock right back to the Hawks.

After the game, Mitchell had to defend himself on social media as he retweeted the said play. It appeared to have been a case of analysis by paralysis as the former Slam Dunk Champion was caught overthinking what dunk to pull-off.

As a former Slam Dunk Champion, Mitchell probably had way too many ideas running through his mind. He had a good few seconds with no one around him and he could've pulled off any dunk he wanted. Instead, the high-flyer will probably end up seeing himself on Shaqtin'-A-Fool after that horrendous miss.

Mitchell and the Jazz are one of the hottest teams in the league right now so a little blooper here and there won't hurt their cause. The Jazz blew out the Hawks on this one and didn't need much from their starters. Mitchell ended the evening with 18 points and five assists while Jordan Clarkson once again delivered off the bench with a game-high of 23 points in 25 minutes. The Jazz have now lost just one game in their last 14 outings and find themselves at the top of the West.
