Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell has sent out a cryptic response to Golden State Warriors stud Klay Thompson's recent comments regarding Warriors newcomer Jonas Jerebko.

Thompson claimed that the Utah Jazz, who decided to waive Jerebko over the summer, wanted nothing to do with the 31-year-old power forward. Mitchell responded with just a single emoji, but this was enough to add a whole lot of mystery to Jerebko's summer move:

For some premise, Jerebko played 74 games for the Jazz last season. However, his services were no longer required by the team, and the Jazz decided to waive the veteran's contract in July of this year. The Warriors pounced and signed the experienced journeyman to a one-year minimum deal a few days later.

On Friday, the Jazz hosted the Warriors. The defending champs came out on top after a hard-fought contest with a final score of 124-123. Jerebko, who played 24 minutes off the Warriors' bench, beat the Jazz at the buzzer with a close-range tip-in following a Kevin Durant mid-range miss.

It must have felt like poetic justice for Jerebko, who was absolutely elated following his insane game-winner. New teammate Thompson may have just put to words how the 6-foot-10 Swede felt after beating his former team on their home floor in such dramatic fashion.

Mitchell's zipped mouth emoji response can be interpreted in several ways. He may have simply been telling Thompson to shut up. Then again, he may have also been implying that his own mouth was shut, meaning he may have some inside information on why the Jazz decided to waive Jerebko. Or Mitchell didn't want to say anything because he thought Jerebko should still be in Utah.

Whatever the case may be, Jerebko is now a Warrior. He is now in an enviable position to bag his first championship in his 10-year career. It was indeed a roller coaster of a summer for Jerebko.
