Mo Bamba is one of the most exciting rookies in the NBA, but he's not immune to roasts — especially from Donovan Mitchell. On ESPN's “College GameDay,” one Oklahoma fan held up a sign that read “Mo Bamba Can't Play Football,” and Bamba responded with proof of his football playing days:

The tall and lanky Bamba definitely looks more like a basketball player than a football player, but he does have proof that he can play, or at least that he did play. But even after posting this, Mitchell roasted the Magic rookie. Bamba isn't taking Mitchell's the joke the wrong way. That's evident in his emoji-laden tweet.

Bamba is an under-the-radar pick for Rookie of the Year. The sixth overall pick is freakishly athletic and combines his physical tools with surprisingly developed skills. The 7-foot big man can step out beyond the arc and knock down 3s when the defense gives him the opportunity.

Bamba will need to break through a crowded Orlando Magic frontcourt. He'll compete for minutes with established veteran Nikola Vucevic. Bamba won't ever be relegated to the bench entirely, but he may not see many starts this season.

Bringing Bamba along slowly could be the right thing to do to help acclimate him to the NBA game, but he has all the skills and physical tools to exceed expectations early. If Bamba is blocking shots and knocking down 3s early in the season, expect him to play his way into major minutes for the Magic.
