The Utah Jazz just lost to the Washington Wizards. If that frustrates you as a Jazz fan, then just imagine how Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert must be feeling right now.

Well, you actually don't need to imagine as we have a couple of quotes from the two Jazz stars following their shock defeat to the Wizards on Thursday night.

According to Mitchell, Utah was too focused on offense that they failed to excel on the defensive end:

“We’re not gonna win if we try to outscore everybody,” Mitchell said, via Eric Walden of the Salt Lake Tribute. “We couldn’t guard, we couldn’t rebound. … If we cannot guard, we’re not gonna do much.”

Mitchell (42 points, four triples) caught fire in this one, and he pretty much tried to outscore the Wizards all by his lonesome. He did get a lot of help from Joe Ingles, though, who himself amassed 34 points on eight three-pointers.

Despite their heroics, however, the Jazz fell short. They had no answer to the Wizards, who themselves had their own dynamic duo. Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook were simply unstoppable on Thursday, combining for 78 points between them. Russ logged another monster triple-double with 35 points, 15 boards, and 13 dimes.

For his part, Jazz center Rudy Gobert has put the blame on his team's lack of communication throughout the evening:

“We started the game with not enough urgency,” Gobert said. “The communication [has not] been important enough. We're not doing it.”

The Jazz are in a bit of a hole right now, as they've now lost four out of their six games this month. They will look to bounce back on Friday in a matchup against the Toronto Raptors in Tampa.
