Kamala Harris is the first African-American woman to be elected Vice President of the United States. It's a feat Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell is very excited about.

Mitchell, who endorsed Joe Biden and Harris in this year's election, took to Twitter to share his excitement level about the Democratic Party winning the White House.

The entire NBA is seemingly thrilled that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the 2020 election over Donald Trump and Mike Pence, whose four-year term was undoubtedly polarizing.

Donovan Mitchell, along with Philadelphia 76ers small forward Tobias Harris and Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum, interviewed Harris a few months ago in what was a powerful conversation. The NBA and its players deserve a lot of credit for the work they did to help mobilize voters.

This offseason is shaping up to be a good one for Mitchell, who is expected to sign a lucrative rookie-scale extension with the Jazz. The NBA and NBPA are most likely going to agree to an escrow system spread out over multiple seasons so players don't take a substantial financial hit during the 2020-21 season, which will begin on Dec. 22 and feature 72 games.

During the 2019-20 season, Mitchell averaged 24.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game for the Jazz while shooting 44.9 percent from the field, 36.6 percent from beyond the arc and 86.3 percent from the free throw line.

The Jazz took a 3-1 series lead over the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2020 playoffs but wound up losing three games in a row and the overall series in seven games.
