The Utah Jazz are getting Stockton back on their team, kind of. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN David Stockton, the son of Jazz great John Stockton has signed a 10-day contract.

Donovan Mitchell, who is also a rookie seems excited to be welcoming his newest teammate.

Stockton went to Gonzaga University for college and has played the last four years with the Reno Bighorns of the G League.

This year he appeared in 39 games averaging 16.3 points, 5.2 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. Of course, he isn't as good as his father was, but he should provide a little guard depth for a team that desperately needs it.

The Jazz are set to take on the Sacramento Kings on Saturday in a big game as they try to secure a playoff spot. Starting point guard Ricky Rubio is questionable for the game and backup guard Raul Neto is out with a wrist fracture.

Not only is there a chance that Stockton could play on Saturday, there is a decent chance he might be asked to play some big minutes.

For Stockton, this won't be the first time playing in the NBA. In 2015 he signed a 10-day contract with the Kings and was part of the preseason roster.

Even if Stockton doesn't get to play much with the Jazz during this 10-day contract, it is still a cool story to say he got signed and sat on the same bench that his dad did for so many years.
