Donovan Mitchell has been surrounded by trade rumors all offseason but is especially surrounded by them now. As the New York Knicks look to beat out opposing teams to land the Utah Jazz star, the star shooting guard is simply enjoying his offseason.

Although Mitchell has not spoken about the rumors, he has not gone dark completely. He is repping New York in public and tweets frequently about the New York Mets, his favorite baseball team. In one early-morning tweet, he tweeted out just the spider emoji.

Donovan Mitchell has averaged 25.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists over the last three seasons for the Jazz. He would be a massive upgrade for the Knicks, who are engaged in trade talks and have the mountain of draft picks necessary to trade for him.

The Jazz, understandably, have a very high asking price for their three-time All-Star. Especially after landing a massive trade package for Rudy Gobert, the Jazz are looking to receive a huge trade package. The talks may go on for a while but the likelihood is that Mitchell will end up in New York eventually.

Mitchell is from Elmsford, New York, so getting to play close to his hometown would be a dream come true. The Knicks would have solid wingmen waiting for him in Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett, Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson. Other teams, notably the Miami Heat, are still in pursuit, though.
