After Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell's impressive 36-point performance in a 129-118 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal decided to throw some blunt criticism at the 24 year old All-Star. While interviewing him on Inside the NBA, O'Neal told Mitchell straight to his face that he doesn't have what it takes to get to the next level.

On air, Mitchell just gave a simple “Aight” in response to the Hall of Fame center's harsh judgment and added that he'll just continue to prove his naysayers, like O'Neal, wrong. In addition, the Jazz star, with perhaps O'Neal's words on his mind, took to Instagram to post about his thoughts on Thursday night.

Mitchell posted three photos of himself, the first being a pre-game picture of him wearing headphones – perhaps to block out the noise. He also added a simple caption: #GreatTeamWin

O'Neal has a knack for throwing unwarranted hate at current players in the league. Most recently, Mitchell's teammate Rudy Gobert had been the target of Shaq's shade parade. Several Jazz players did not appreciate the way the 4-time NBA champion gave the harsh take

It certainly came out of nowhere considering how Mitchell's 36-point outburst, which included six triples and an 11-of-19 shooting night from the field, added another win for a rolling Jazz team. More so, Mitchell has looked magnificent to start his fourth NBA season.

The former Louisville star has led Utah to an 11-4 start, good for the no. 2 spot in the Western Conference, alongside the Los Angeles Clippers. Mitchell and the Jazz look to carry the momentum – and the motivation – as the Golden State Warriors visit Salt Lake City on Saturday.
