The blockbuster trade between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Utah Jazz puzzled many fans. It was one of those rare trades that seemed to make no sense for both teams. The Wolves got a center to pair with their other star center, while the Jazz traded away their star for a bunch of picks and some solid star players.

Gilbert Arenas was one of the people who was confused about the trade. On his podcast, the former All-Star guard lambasted both the Jazz and the Timberwolves for the trade. In particular, Arenas went off on the Jazz, seemingly calling the players that were included in the trade just ā€œnobodiesā€.

Calling the players involved in the Jazz trade ā€œnobodiesā€ is a bit of a stretch. While they aren't on the same star level as Gobert, the men traded for him are no slouches either. Patrick Beverley doesn't need any introduction: any NBA fan worth their salt knows who he is. Jarred Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley were underrated pieces for a Timberwolves team that made significant strides last season.

Perhaps what Arenas meant when calling these players nobodies is their relative value compared to Gobert. All of the players traded by the Timberwolves to the Jazz don't come close to Gobert's caliber, which made it surprising that he was traded for them. It seems like the players were just there to facilitate the transfer of the FIVE first-round picks.

In any case, expect the three players to use this as motivation for the upcoming season. Beverley, especially, will most likely have a response to Arenas.
